The city of Grozny today resembles one of the European cities. You will not find traces of the events of the 90s here.
Now the look of the city is a combination of a new architectural trend with the preservation of historically significant architectural buildings, which are the decoration of the capital of the Chechen Republic. Many mosques against the backdrop of modern skyscrapers make you forget that you are in Russia.
Duration: 12 hours.
Departure from city Nalchik at 9:00.
Memorial of memory and glory in Ingushetia
And the first stop is the Memorial of Memory and Glory in Ingushetia.
The center of the memorial composition is a building of nine traditional watchtowers, symbolically entangled with barbed wire. It houses the exposition of the museum of victims of political repression. The number of towers is not accidental. Nine is the number of deported nations. The memorial is dedicated to two topics – the participation of the Ingush people in the Great World War 2 and the deportation of the Ingush people in 1944. The complex impresses with its scale, well-groomedness and variety of monuments.
On the territory of the memorial, there is an impressive equestrian monument to the Ingush Regiment of the Wild Division, a monument to Lieutenant Umatgirey Artaganovich Barkhanoev, a steam locomotive with a wagon (this was the one in which the deportation was carried out), as well as a military exposition.
Staying time: 25 min.
Tower of Concord
Our next stop is the city of Magas in Republic Ingushetia. Its visiting card is the Tower of Concord – the highest observation tower in the North Caucasus. It was erected in the style of a medieval Ingush tower enlarged four times. Height – 100 meters.
According to legend, in ancient times, the tallest “Tower of the Country” stood on the site of the modern tower, which was a symbol of freedom for the inhabitants of the ancient settlement. The enemies who attacked the village destroyed everything alive and completely dismantled the tower. Tradition says that only the people, united by a single spirit of creation and a common goal, will be able to build a new tower on the same place higher than the previous one.
At an altitude of 85 m, there is an observation deck with a stunning panorama. Visiting it is an extraordinary feeling: the platform is completely made of glass – both the floor and the stained-glass windows. It feels like you’re floating in the air.
In Chechenian Republic on the way to city Grozny we stop near city Shali.
Here we will visit the largest mosque in Europe, which is called “Pride of Muslims”. The architectural structure strikes the imagination with its majesty, unique interior and exterior. The Mosque “Pride of Muslims” can simultaneously accommodate more than 30 thousand prayers, and, given the adjacent territory, about one hundred thousand people can pray at the same time.
Staying time: 1.5 hours.
We are going to the city of Argun to visit the “Mother’s Heart” Mosque.
Mosque in the city of Argun can be called not only one of the most striking architectural objects of Argun, but also a landmark of the entire republic. It was built according to a unique project with three 55-meter snow-white minarets, made in the hi-tech style.
During the day, depending on the weather, the vaults of the mosque change shades of colors – from light gray to turquoise blue. At night, 50,000 LED backlights and 96 spotlights from the 55-meter minarets are turned on. The walls of the mosque are decorated with the rarest marble. The oval arches of the main prayer hall are crowned with a large dome 23 meters high and 24 meters in diameter. Also in the mosque there is a huge five-ton chandelier in the form of a crescent, the diameter of which is 31 meters.

The complex is located in the center of the city of Grozny. The memorial includes a museum, a park, and a number of monuments. Bronze bas-reliefs along the perimeter of the museum memorial complex depict the largest battles of the Second World War, such as the Brest Fortress, the Battle of Stalingrad, etc. Here you can also see portraits of the heroes of the Soviet Union, immigrants from Checheno-Ingushetia. Inside the complex is the Museum, which, in terms of the richness and beauty of its interior decoration, can compete with famous monuments of world architecture.
The hallmark of the city of Grozny is the Mosque “Heart of Chechen”. The mosque was painted by masters from Turkey. To write patterns and verses (texts) from the Koran, the craftsmen used gold plating of the highest standard. The mosque has 36 chandeliers. With their forms, they resemble the three shrines of Islam – 27 of them imitate the Kubbatu-as-Sahra mosque in Jerusalem, 8 are modeled after the Rovzatu-Nebevi mosque in Medina, and the largest, 8-meter chandelier, repeats the Kaaba shrine in Mecca. The creation of the collection took several tons of bronze, 2.5 kg of gold of the highest standard and more than 1 million details. The chandeliers have a Chechen ornament, which was specially selected by the designers.
