A popular, bright and memorable place in Kabardino-Balkaria is the Djily-Su tract. This is an untouched corner of nature, loved by lovers of outdoor activities, the beauty of the mountains and clean air. It has a lot of natural springs and waterfalls, huge sculptures of an unusual shape, formed from hardened lava under the power of wind and water. Here you can relax and improve your health.
Valley of the Narzans
Dolina Naranov glade (Valley of the Narzans) is covered on all sides by mountains, and along its entire length about 20 mineral water springs come to the surface. Mineral water of natural aeration beats from the rocks. There are 2 types of narzan in the valley: silver and sulfate. Near the sulfate sources, the stones are covered with a layer of iron.

The tract is replete with many mountain rivers and healing springs. Among them are mineral, and thermal, and carbon dioxide. Healing here is not only water, but also the purest mountain air filled with ions.
For the convenience of tourists, the springs are ennobled, stone baths are laid around them. The water in them is updated very quickly. In one day, each source pours out more than a million liters of 25-degree narzan. The walls of the baths are covered with a bright coating due to the high level of minerals in the water. It is believed that the temperature of the water is maintained by volcanic processes taking place deep underground. These waters are not for drinking, but for bathing.
The Glade is located at an altitude of 2500 meters. It is the starting point for climbing Elbrus. It was here that in 1829 the camp of a scientific expedition was set up under the general leadership of General Georgy Arsenyevich Emmanuel. And on July 22, 1829, the expedition made the first ascent of Mount Elbrus.
The hit of the tract is the Sultan waterfall, 40 meters high. One of the largest waterfalls in the republic is located on the Kyzyl-Kol River, a little higher than the thermal springs. Powerful jets of water fall down from a deep crevice in the rock. During the intense melting of glaciers, the water can become dirty. This is evidenced by its gray color. During the rest of the year, the waterfall is crystal clear.
