First stop — Chegem waterfalls. The largest of them is the «Maiden’s Spit». According to legend, girl with luxurious, long hair lived in the village. Robbers attacked them, but the girl did not surrender, but jumped off the cliff, catching her hair on the stones. This is how the waterfall was formed. The second waterfall looks like a gutter, through which streams of water flow without ceasing. The third waterfall is «weeping». Thin streams of water pour out through cracks in the rocks, resembling tears.

The panorama is breathtaking and excites the imagination. There is a lot of vegetation around, birds sing, insects chirp, and all this is combined with the incessant sound of water.

Then we go to the village of El Tu-Byu, where we will walk around the city of the Dead.

The village is very interesting, once the national poet of the republic Kaysin Kuliev lived here. A monument was erected to him in the center of the village. The village itself is like an open-air museum, where you can see the watchtowers of the ancient highlanders.

The «city of the dead» is bordered by a small stone wall. It has preserved 8 ground keshene (mausoleums). Half of which have a triangular roof, and the other half with a domed roof. Here, fenced with low stone fences, there are family graves. But they don’t have any markings. Being here, willy-nilly, you feel awe. Some of the crypts were destroyed and looted. You can look inside through the windows. Whether there were burials there and where they then disappeared remains a mystery. After all, the windows are very small and it is not easy to pull something big out of there.

The next stage of our trip is crossing the Aktoprak Pass. There we will stop at the observation deck and take memorable photos. The Aktoprak pass is called the Road of Beauty. Along the way, there are plenty of places to stop and admire the surroundings.

Finally, we stop at Gizhgit Lake, where tea on the fire and a snack are waiting for us.

Lake Gizhgit is the most beautiful and dangerous lake in Russia. Turquoise pond, green hills around, meadows with bright, colorful flowers. Fabulous place. Fishing and swimming in the lake is not recommended, as factory waste has been poured into it for many years, and it is saturated with harmful elements. But how beautiful it is!

An iron bridge rises above the lake, which attracts curious tourists, extreme sportsmen and climbers.

Shilajit grows near the lake. This folk remedy is known for its medicinal properties.
