Malka Gorge is the longest and most amazing canyon of the republic. The place is very picturesque — a raging river, flowering herbaceous plants, dense forests with poplars, birches, willows. Of particular note is the Gedmishkh waterfall Zhetmish. Once it flowed in a wonderful valley, but for some unknown reason it completely dried up, leaving only a hinged rock as a reminder of itself, as in science fiction films.

The nature of the Caucasus is presented here in all its glory. Even if there is no more waterfall here, you can walk along the places of their former strength and power, plunge into the pool, and even have a picnic on the wonderful bank of the Malka River.

Shadkhurey Lakes are two hidden lakes. Blue water against the backdrop of snowy Elbrus looks fantastic. The water is clean and clear, there are many kinds of fish. Previously, there were three lakes, but one of the lakes suddenly became shallow and only a large pit remained. The lakes arose due to sinkholes in the soil as a result of limestone leaching.

Khabaz waterfalls

Amazing in their beauty and grandeur, the Khabaz waterfalls attract crowds of tourists. They are called Royal waterfalls, 1000 jets or Gedmishkh waterfall. This is not one stream of water, but a whole cascade of waterfalls that differ in height. The water flows clean, tasty, healing. It is saturated with iron, manganese, potassium, magnesium.

Today, these waterfalls are endangered due to planned work to build aqueducts. You should definitely have time to enjoy this miracle of nature.

Shadkhurey Small Lake

Next, we will visit the Small Lake Shadhurey, which is located in a rather deep basin. The lake is round, the water is quite dark.

Shadhurey Great Lake

The large lake is slightly different in shape, it is more oval. The color of the water in it is light emerald. The lakes are poorly explored, as they have strong undercurrents. Presumably, their depth is more than 200 m. All year round the water keeps the same temperature, about +15 degrees.
